Crowded House – Intriguer Album Launch

TOWN HALL AUCKLAND APRIL 2010

Neil Finn approached IOP and ask us to visualize the Intriguer character as part of their Auckland concert.

After discussions with the band and Michael Leunig, IOP created a mischievous character who disrupted the concert and added real danger and unpredictability to proceedings.

He caused lights to blow up the in the grid sending sparks flying. He materialized as a projected shadow having an effect on the perfectly mapped Town Hall organ.

It flapped like a curtain, and appeared to bend around his face and hands. He turned the ‘virtual’ organ pipes into pistons and ultimately caused them crashed down at the climax during the finale song “Don’t Dream it’s Over”

A wonderful evening that received rave reviews.

The Australian Department Store giant David Jones head hunted IOP after the success of their work with Colette Dinnagan fashion show in Paris & the Louis Vuitton world tour. Over the past few years Inside Out have created highly polished, evocative sets, twice a year, that transport guests to various destinations around the world. So far shows have been set in Tahiti, Dublin, St Tropez, Tokyo and Rio de Janeiro and Outback Australia.

What a success! in October 2009, the giant rugby ball venue was inflated in Tokyo under the grand Tokyo Tower. Once again many high profile guests enjoyed the functions hosted within the ball over the eight days.

Guests such as New Zealands Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism Mr John Key, Mr Shintaro Ishihara (Governor of Tokyo), Mr Shin Maeda (Tokyo Tower chief executive), Noboru Mashimo (vice president of Japan’s Rugby Football Union), The All Blacks, former All Black John Kirwan (coach of Japan’s national rugby team), actress Beverly Maeda and actor Mr Hiroshi Tachi all visited the Giant Rugby Ball.

Over 13,000 people were lucky enough to enjoy the free 10minute 360 degree AV over the eight days it was open. Where will it land next? watch this space…

Telecom NZ Night Lights

After the success of The XT Launch on the Auckland Town Hall in May 2009
IOP were approached by Telecom New Zealand to design a light show to reveal their new brand.

The company got permission to close Quay Street for 5 nights, and created a interactive video presentation which was enjoyed for free by thousands of people and ran from 8pm-12am each night.

Telecom NZ XT Launch Town Hall Auckland

Inside Out, working video installation experts from both Australia & New Zealand created artwork on both the inside and the outside of The Town Hall in Auckland. The building was literally mapped in 3D and projected back on itself. The Town Hall became a Lollipop House, a giant Sandcastle, and a London Tube Station to name a few. The outside free show ran for 3 nights on a 7 minute loop changing every minute. Inside became a full immersion experience for the 500+ invited VIP guests.

In November 2008, once again Mike Mizrahi and Marie Adams successfully promoted New Zealand by inflating the giant Rugby ball shaped venue right beside the Tower Bridge in London for the Grand Slam UK Tour. Stunning images of New Zealand were projected onto the exterior of the Rugby ball at night time to enhance its presence in London.

High profile guests that visited the Rugby ball venue included The Queen, New Zealand Prime Minister John Key, The All Blacks, and the Mayor of London Boris Johnson.

Q Theatre Launch

Mike Mizrahi and Marie Adams were commissioned to stage an event that unites the Auckland’s Artistic community in a vision for what will shortly become New Zealand’s newest Theatre space. Working with a large company of well-known and lesser known talents across the whole spectrum of performing arts, Inside Out took people on an evocative journey through a series of installations set in the bowls of what will become the new theatre space itself.
