In 1999 Louis Vuitton approached Inside Out and asked them to create a 20min spectacular to be staged on the main stage of the newly restored Civic Theatre. It needed to be a show that could have only come from New Zealand; it needed to wow the 2500 international and New Zealand VIP guests and include the Captains of the boats and the world famous violinist Laurent Korcia. The company wrote a kiwi extravaganza inspired by the concept of harnessing the power of wind, and utilizing the Civic’s some 70 fly lines, in what became the unofficial opening of the venue. This was to become the beginning of a long lasting relationship with Louis Vuitton. They staged the next Cup Party when LV returned in 2003 and then the Louis Vuitton 150th celebrations in NY, HK and Tokyo.
